Efecto anticonvulsivo y antidepresivo del extracto etanólico de hojas de Annona reticulata en rata

RESUMEN
La epilepsia y la depresión son afecciones del Sistema Nervioso Central (SNC) que causan sufrimiento
y morbilidad entre la población mexicana. Si bien existen fármacos para su terapéutica, en
ocasiones éstos resultan ineficaces y promueven efectos adversos que conllevan al abandono del
tratamiento por parte del paciente. Especies de la familia annonaceae son utilizadas en la medicina
tradicional mexicana por sus propiedades terapéuticas ansiolíticas, anticonvulsivas, anticancerígenas,
antioxidantes y antiinflamatorias, sin embargo; no se conocen propiedades las propiedades
terapéuticas de la especie de Annona reticulata (
A. reticulata), de modo que el objetivo de este
estudio consistió en realizar un discernimiento de los posibles efectos anticonvulsivos y antidepresivos
en modelos experimentales en rata.
Método: se utilizaron las hojas secas de
A. reticulata preparadas
como un extracto etanólico para evaluar sus efectos como anticonvulsivo en la prueba de crisis
convulsivas inducidas con pentilentetrazol y como antidepresivo en la prueba de nado forzado, en rata
Wistar, valproato de sodio e imipramina, se utilizaron como fármacos de referencia, respectivamente.
Resultados: A. reticulata aumentó la latencia y disminuyó la severidad de las crisis convulsivas y redujo
la conducta depresiva.
Conclusión: este estudio da evidencia preclínica de las propiedades como
anticonvulsivo y antidepresivo de las hojas de
A. reticulata, reforzando su potencial en la búsqueda de alternativas terapeúticas para afecciones del SNC.
