REVISTA LATINOAMERICANA DE MICROBIOLOGÍA is a periodical publication of the Asociación Mexicana de Microbiología (http:// www.microbiologia.org.mx). Unpublished original papers, notes or short communications, and review articles, in all areas of microbiology including studies on archaeal, bacterial, fungal, and eukaryotic microbes and their viruses and genomes, are considered for publication. The journal covers the following microbiology disciplines: basic, structural, taxonomy, phylogeny, genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, enzymology, physiology, food, industrial, biotechnology, medical, diagnostic, ecology, environmental, plant, soil, and virology. Original papers must be written in English, with an abstract both in English and in Spanish. Review articles written in either English or Portuguese will be considered, but authors are encouraged to submit their works in Spanish. Occasionally other sections will be included, such as Editorials, Opinions, Letters to the Editor, and reviews on books, videos and web pages.
